In partnership with Graduate Studies, the BYU Research & Writing Center offers a free Thesis/Dissertation Writing Camp each semester to provide space, food, support, and camaraderie for graduate students as they plan, write, and/or revise their theses or dissertations.

8:30 a.m. – Continental Breakfast
9:00–9:25 am – Goal Setting Workshop
9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. – Writing Time
12:00–12:45 p.m. – Lunch
12:45–1:00 p.m. – Writing Tip
1:00–4:00 p.m. – Writing Time
4:00 p.m. – Reflection & Wrap-up
**Writing consultants hold individual 30-minute sessions with interested campers throughout the morning and afternoon.
Due to limited resources, we cannot guarantee a spot for everyone who might be interested in participating.
Application deadline for the day camp is Friday, September 11, 2026.

Spring Day Camps Details
Each spring, we offer a series of day camps throughout the month of May to help graduate students jumpstart their summer writing projects. We call it Momentum Mondays in May! For 2027, these will be held on May 3, 10, and 17.
The idea is to help you build momentum on your writing for the week by starting off with the support and camaraderie of the day camp experience. There will only be one application, but you can indicate on that if you can come to one or more of the days.
