Writing Support for Graduate Students

Graduate Writing Consultants

Graduate students are welcome to schedule an appointment or drop in to meet with any research or writing consultant in the RWC. In addition, the are Graduate Writing Consultants (GWCs) specifically designated to support graduate students in their professional development as writers and on their longer and more complex writing projects. Listed below are available options for meeting with a GWC.

Individual Sessions

To schedule an appointment with a GWC, go the RWC online schedule and select “Writing Consultation for Graduate Students” under consultation options. You can select whether to meet in person or online. If these appointment slots are full, we recommend joining the waiting list to be notified if an opening becomes available with a GWC or scheduling an appointment with one of our other writing consultants.

Recurring Sessions

Grad students working on longer writing projects who would like to meet with a consultant over several different sessions can apply to our Grad Pace Program. As part of the Grad Pace Program, you will be paired with a GWC for recurring consultations throughout the semester to help keep you on pace to meet your writing goals.

To apply for the Grad Pace Program, click on the Apply button below and fill out the application form. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but the priority deadline for Winter 2024 is December 6. Your application will be reviewed according to the program's objectives and available resources. If you are selected to join the program, we will contact you to schedule your recurring sessions.

If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact us!
